Held Here By Silence
The Great Blue Heron waited at the edge of the marsh. Around her, the marsh had fallen into a deep silence. As small fish turned beneath the surface of the water, the Heron did not move; Silence gathered there and wrapped itself around her.
She did not stand within that silence—she was held by it. The quiet kept her still, neck drawn in, her eyes fixed on the darkness before her. – RDA
